OPSIM-The operations club of IIM Bodh Gaya successfully hosted the first-ever Healthcare Operations Conclave – Bodhi Karma 2022. Due to the COVID pandemic, all industries took a major hit, but the sector that struggled the most and held the most importance, was the healthcare sector. To understand those challenges and steps to be taken to avoid such problems in the future this conclave was conducted. Industry leaders from eminent organizations were invited and enlightened students regarding the same. 

Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Rajaram Govindraja who is an engineer, a doctor, and a teacher. He has received his education from renowned institutions across the globe and has extensive work experience in the healthcare sector. His current focus is Govisystem, a company he founded that aims to revolutionize healthcare through AI. He spoke on the topic “Post- Pandemic Challenges in Healthcare Operations Management” and gave helpful insights to students on the topic. 

Next was the panel discussion, which consisted of highly impressive personalities. As the first panelist, we had Mr. Viren Shetty who is the current COO of Narayana Health, one of the biggest hospital chains in India. He is a Stanford Graduate and is working to make Narayana Health a fully integrated digital-first healthcare provider. As our second panelist, we had Mr. Neeraj Lal, current COO of Apollo hospitals. He has over 20+ years of experience in the healthcare industry and has worked in the top management of various top hospitals. As our third panelist, we had Mr.Shriram Sonawane. He is the Founder and director at Passbox, he has an extensive 17+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. As the moderator for the event, we had Mr. Alok Jha. He is the current head of Operations, Healthcare & Life sciences at Tech Mahindra and has over 20+ years of experience in operations & healthcare. 

All four panelists discussed the topic- “Future of Healthcare- Challenges and Opportunities”. They gave insights into the changes the healthcare industry is going under to tackle the problems brought on by the Pandemic. What is the Future of the healthcare industry and as MBA students what skills and knowledge we require if we want to work in the healthcare operations industry. 

The event was a huge success and helped students understand the intricacies of the healthcare industry. We are extremely grateful to all the dignitaries who took time out of their busy schedules to interact and educate the students.
