On 16th September, 2017, the 30th Anniversary of Montreal Protocol, IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated World Ozone Day by conducting a planting drive around the campus. The event saw the involvement of their faculty members – Ms. Runa Sarkar and Mr. Abhishek Goyal, members of Gyanjyoti Rural Welfare Development Trust and the students of IIM Bodh Gaya. The faculty educated the members, teachers and young schoolchildren of Gyanjyoti Academy about harmful effects of ozone, depletion of ozone layer, and how vital it is to conserve it. Saplings were planted around the campus by the faculty, students and members of Gyanjyoti, aiming to improve air quality & filtering ozone. Thus, it was an imperative step taken towards conserving our environment.

A team from IIM BG also visited villages in Bihar, discussing problems faced by the villagers. Discussions and suggestions were provided to school authorities of Angadwadi Kendra, providing administrative solutions to better educational standards.
