Blood Donation(29th August 2019)


IIM Bodh Gaya along with the chairperson of Student Affairs,Dr. Soumyajyoti Banerjee organized a blood donation camp.The camp was held in association with Magadh Medical College,Gaya. More than 50 students and staff members gathered fromthe institute to donate blood and support the noble cause.


Water Conservation(13th September 2019)


Pragati – The CSR Club of IIM Bodh Gaya began its campaign on waterconservation under the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The first objective was to discuss themotivations and challenges of the campaign through a presentation by Shubhangi Khamkar and Kumar Harsh. The largest consumption of water inGaya comes from agrarian activities and tourism. On the other hand, 60% of households lack sufficient potable water. The students discussed the variouschallenge points and suggested solutions at personal and institutional levels.This was followed by an open discussion with the entire student body who came up with valuable suggestions for the cause. The next plan in line for the campaign is to expand efforts towards water conservation in villages in and around Bodhgaya.

 


Swacchta Hi Sewa (3rd October 2019)


A cleanliness drive was conducted under the the umbrella of ‘Swacchta Hi Seva’2019, an initiative by our honorable PM Narendra Modi. Students of the institution along with Director ma’am Dr. Vinita Sahay and faculty members actively took part in the event.

 


Hearing and Walking Aids (20th October 2019 & 17th November 2019)


IIM Bodhgaya in collaboration with Lions Club Ranchi, Lions Club Magadh Gaya and Red Cross society distributed the walking and hearing aids to around 350 in need. Volunteers from the Pragati club helped the cause in crowd management, registration process, and other operation related processes. Mr. Abhishek Singh, Hon’ble DM of Gaya and Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya took part in the event and supported the cause.


Run For Unity(31st October 2019)


On the birthday of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, IIM Body Gaya took pleasure in organizing a 5-km Run for Unity. The event started with a speech by Dr. Vinata Sahay, Director of IIMBG. Prof. Soumyajyoti, Chairperson of Students Affairs then addressed the students with his encouraging speech before the run. Participants also united to take a pledge to foster and reinforce their dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity, and security of the nation; disseminating the values supported by Sardar Vallabhai Patel. All students united in taking part in this event and made it a grand success.

 


Sanitary Pads (14th November 2019)


IIM Bodh GAYA has taken the initiative of inculcating hygienic and healthy measures to the rural students of Gaya by distributing sanitary pads to girls of Dankan Madhyamik Government school at Sikaria Mod on the eve of Children’s day. Faculty members and student volunteers from the institute took part in the event and assured that similar events will be organized every quarter of the year.


Career Counselling (12th January 2020)


On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Pragati: The CSR club of IIM Bodh Gaya has taken initiatives called Jeevan Rekha career counselling program which aims at providing the students of high school with career guidance and enlightening them with various career options available. Club also initiated Gram Jyoti Illiteracy Eradication program which aims at improving the literacy in the nearby villages. As an inauguration for these programs on the ocassion of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, students visited the Polytechnic English School of Manpur, Gaya and conducted various activities, which included an outbound activity and an indoor activity for around 100 students. Later, the students gave a presentation that educated the students and gave an idea of various career options available. The club will assist the students for any career advice required. Similar activities will be repeated in villages in and around Gaya every calender year.
