AAYURUN 2026 – A Health-Focused Marathon Initiative
“ On January 24, 2026, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya hosted AAYURUN 2026, a health-focused marathon organized by Pragati: the CSR Committee as part of Elegante X. Guided by the tagline “Run Long. Live Strong.”, the event aimed to promote physical well-being and highlight the importance of preventive health in building a stronger society. With more than 800 participants, including students, faculty members, staff members, outsiders and NGO representatives, the 8.5 km run showcased strong community participation and encouraged a culture of fitness and social responsibility. Building on earlier initiatives like Greenathon, Riverathon, and EduRUN, AAYURUN 2026 emphasized holistic wellness and sustainable social development, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and community engagement.”
SPARSH – Strengthening Early Education
SPARSH is a joint initiative by Glad Bharat Foundation and the Pragati – CSR Committee of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, aimed at improving foundational learning among young students. The program focuses on strengthening reading, writing, and numeracy skills for early-grade children in rural areas.Through classroom-led activities and community engagement, the initiative works to support quality education and create better learning opportunities for children, contributing toward stronger educational outcomes in rural Bihar.
Blood Donation Camp – A Step Towards Saving Lives
“ The CSR Committee of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital to encourage voluntary blood donation among students, faculty, and staff. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and supporting healthcare services for those in need. With enthusiastic participation from the campus community, the camp witnessed over 100 donors, making the initiative a meaningful contribution toward saving lives and strengthening the spirit of social responsibility.”
Pankhudi – Happy Periods Initiative
Under the Pankhudi initiative, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya conducted Happy Periods, a menstrual awareness campaign to promote menstrual hygiene and educate young girls and women about healthy practices. The initiative also encouraged the use of sanitary pads and helped address common myths surrounding menstruation. Organized in collaboration with Niine India, which provided 4,800 sanitary pads, the campaign was conducted in three phases, covering M.S. Basadhi School and Rajkiya Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, awareness sessions for housekeeping staffs inside the campus, and outreach in Turi Khurd village strengthening community health awareness.
CPR Training Program – Building a Community of Lifesavers
“ On 13th September 2025, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, in collaboration with Paras Health, conducted a CPR Training Program to spread awareness about life-saving emergency response skills among students. The session focused on teaching participants the correct techniques of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the importance of immediate action during medical emergencies. The program aimed to move from awareness to action by equipping participants with practical knowledge that can help save lives. Through this initiative, the institute took another step toward building a responsible and prepared community capable of responding effectively in critical situations.”
Drishti Didi Program – Vision Care Initiative
In collaboration with the Lenskart Foundation, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya through Pragati – the CSR Committee implemented the Drishti Didi Program to improve vision care and access to eye health services in nearby communities. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about eye health and providing free preliminary eye check-ups. Through the program, more than 4,000 preliminary eye check-ups were conducted across four villages and the Dhanvantri facility at IIM Bodh Gaya. The initiative resulted in 874 recommendations for further care, 385 clinical screenings, 245 beneficiaries receiving free spectacles, 49 cataract cases identified, and 17 doctor referrals, creating a meaningful impact in improving community eye health and quality of life.
Medical Health Checkup Camp – Promoting Community Well-being
“ Pragati the CSR Committee of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya organized a Medical Health Checkup Camp in collaboration with Axis Bank on 16th November 2025 to encourage preventive healthcare and promote well-being within the community. The initiative provided participants with access to basic health checkups and medical guidance. The camp witnessed the participation of 119 individuals, reflecting strong community involvement and a shared commitment toward better health. Through this initiative, the institute continued its efforts to create awareness about the importance of regular health checkups and accessible healthcare support.”
Karuna – The Orphanage Visit Initiative
Karuna : A Step Towards Compassion is a social initiative by the Pragati – The CSR Committee of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, aimed at fostering empathy and meaningful community engagement among students. As part of the initiative, volunteers visited Komal Pujan Public School to spend time with children, interact with them, and build positive connections. The visit focused on nurturing values such as empathy, kindness, gratitude, and compassion among students while creating joyful moments for the children. Through Karuna, the institute continues to encourage socially responsible leadership and community bonding.
CSR Summit “Kalpavriksha 1.0 ”
“It was a proud privilege to host the maiden CSR Summit “Kalpavriksha 1.0 ” at IIM Bodh Gaya organized by Pragati, The Social Responsibility Club of the institute on 28th Feburary, 2021. The Summit facilitated the discussion between CSR experts on a common platform to encourage future managers & increase their involvement in CSR activities. The aim was to create awareness about the existing opportunities in the development sector and explore the challenges in the field of social entrepreneurship. We are grateful to all the industry experts for their enthusiastic participation.”
‘Tarakki’ An Initiative By IIMBG & CPWD
Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Bodh Gaya, in collaboration with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has opened a school for children of daily wage workers engaged in construction work of the B-school campus at Bodh Gaya. The members of the Pragati club along with few volunteers will spend time with the children five days a week and impart education under the programme named—‘Tarakki’.
‘Rural Immersion’ Field Visit By Pragati Club
“Under the initiative of ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’, students of IIM Bodh Gaya steered by the ‘Pragati’ – The CSR club of the institute visited 5 villages in the vicinity of the new campus. The following villages namely ‘Turi Buzurg, Turi Khurd, Bapunagar, Mohdar, Rampur’ will be assisted by the Institute in the field of literacy, sanitary, awareness and livelihood. The novel idea behind this visit is to access the primary infra facilities and education set-up in these villages and to analyze the requisites for sustainable growth of these villages, thereby supporting them to develop. This will help to inculcate social responsibility among the student fraternity of IIM BG aligning with it’s vision statement and to establish a long term relationship with the rural populace for mutual growth.”
“DISHA” Career Counselling Programme of IIMBG
On 8th September 2020, The CSR Club of IIM BG celebrated the #WorldLiteracyDay by organizing a Book and Stationery Donation Drive for the underprivileged children and by conducting an Online Career Counselling Session to enlighten the students regarding career options and Personal Queries of the students were addressed by the Pragati Club members from diverse background & insights of future prospects in different domains were covered.
Contribute To Society
IIM Bodh Gaya believes that contributing to society is as imperative as academic achievements. As responsible future managers, it is a prerogative of every individual to contribute to society. IIM Bodh Gaya has actively participated to initiate and continue various social initiatives attempting to influence lives of others around and to leave an indelible ink on others’ lives.
World Ozone Day
On 16th September, 2017, the 30th Anniversary of Montreal Protocol, IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated World Ozone Day by conducting a planting drive around the campus. The event saw the involvement of their faculty members – Ms. Runa Sarkar and Mr. Abhishek Goyal, members of Gyanjyoti Rural Welfare Development Trust and the students of IIM Bodh Gaya.

Pitrapaksha Festival
With support from IAS Richie Pandey, a cleanliness drive near Vishnupad temple and Phalgu river was initiated by the students of IIM Bodh Gaya with the help of the administration of Gaya district during the Pitrapaksha Festival, 2017.
Angadwadi Kendra
A team from IIM BG also visited villages in Bihar, discussing problems faced by the villagers. Discussions and suggestions were provided to school authorities of Angadwadi Kendra, providing administrative solutions to better educational standards.
As responsible future managers, it is a prerogative of every individual to contribute to society.
