IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with a series of events on campus, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to commemorate the nation’s freedom and honour its history. In support of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which urges citizens to bring the Tiranga home, the Institute was decorated in the tri-colour hues. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the national flag by Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, in the presence of faculty, staff, and students, followed by the singing of the national anthem by all.
In her address, Dr. Vinita S. Sahay reflected on the importance of leadership, stating that each one of us can be a leader in our own way by expressing ourselves through the talents we have. She emphasised that we will thrive and we will bloom just by doing so.
The programme continued with a lively Tug of War competition for the guards, celebrating their hard work and dedication. Yoga demonstration and cultural performances followed, featuring traditional dances, patriotic songs, recitations, and a skit, which also became a platform to spread awareness on substance abuse as part of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan campaign. These events saw enthusiastic participation from across the campus community. The festivities concluded with a spirited badminton match between students and faculty.
As the day drew to a close, the event ended with a pledge to uphold the values of unity and to contribute to the ongoing progress of the nation.
