On the 77th Independence Day, the entire IIM Bodh Gaya fraternity gathered to commemorate and reminisce about the long struggle of our freedom fighters. The institute had already been a notable part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, instilling a sense of patriotism in the hearts of students.
To commence the auspicious ceremony, Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, the Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, unfurled the national flag, following which everybody sang the national anthem. After the melodious symphony, Dr. Sahay motivated the students to be self-dependent and resilient through any hardship they might come across. “Don’t just be grateful; take your responsibility too,” she said. She highlighted that this generation should carry the nation’s responsibility on their shoulders.
This was followed by a cultural programme organized by the Cultural Committee, in which students enthusiastically participated. They captivated everybody with their talented performances. The program included energetic dance performances, euphonious singing, and impressive poetry. Prof. Sreelekha Mishra, the Chairperson of the Student Affairs Committee addressed the gathering with an inaugural speech and oversaw the entire event.
This was followed by a cultural event where the Cultural committee organized performances by the students from MBA Batches 07 & 08 and IPM Batch 01, with each performance displaying exuberance and leaving the audience awestruck.
Then, an outdoor games event – ‘Back to School’ was held. This included the lemon race, sack race, balloon race, and tug of war. The students, faculty, and non-faculty members evidently had a lot of fun during these races. The event ended with a friendly cricket match between the students and the faculty members.
