Celebrating International Day of Yoga at IIM Bodh Gaya

Bodh Gaya, June 21, 2026

IIM Bodh Gaya observed the International Day of Yoga with the participation of faculty and staff members, reaffirming its commitment to well-being, mindfulness, and holistic development.

Situated in Bodh Gaya, the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment, the Institute draws inspiration from a legacy rooted in awareness, reflection, and purposeful living. Mindfulness, one of IIM Bodh Gaya’s core values, encourages individuals to remain present, attentive, and thoughtful in both personal and professional pursuits. The practice of Yoga complements these principles by fostering harmony between the body and mind.

The observance brought together members of the IIM Bodh Gaya community for a collective yoga session on campus. Through a series of postures and breathing exercises, participants engaged in practices that promote physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional balance. The session also served as an opportunity to step away from daily routines and reconnect with the importance of self-care and conscious living.

In management education, where decision-making, leadership, and interpersonal effectiveness are central, mindfulness plays a vital role. The ability to remain focused, composed, and aware enables individuals to navigate challenges with greater clarity and purpose. Yoga offers a practical pathway towards cultivating these qualities, making it relevant not only as a wellness practice but also as a means of personal and professional growth.

As the world marked the International Day of Yoga, IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated the occasion by reflecting on the enduring relevance of mindfulness and well-being, values that resonate deeply with both the spirit of Bodh Gaya and the ethos of the Institute.
