A five-day programme equips faculty members with practical AI applications in teaching, research and institutional leadership.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya successfully concluded a Management Development Programme (MDP) on artificial intelligence for 13 faculty members from the Royal Institute of Management (RIM), Thimphu, Bhutan. The programme was organised under the executive chairpersonship of Dr Amit Kumar Srivastava, under the guidance of Prof. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, and coordinated by Dr Samant Saurabh and Dr Madan Lal Yadav.
Designed to strengthen AI capabilities among educators, the five-day residential programme equipped participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching, research, institutional leadership and decision-making. By combining conceptual learning with hands-on applications, the initiative sought to prepare faculty members to harness emerging AI technologies for improving academic delivery, research productivity and institutional effectiveness.
Over the course of the programme, participants explored the evolving AI landscape, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, large language models and prompt engineering. Interactive sessions provided practical exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and NotebookLM, alongside modules on AI-assisted research, data storytelling, persuasive presentations, document synthesis, business strategy, governance, digital marketing, decision support, forecasting, and AI safety and security. The programme culminated in a capstone project, where participants developed and presented AI-enabled solutions to real-world institutional and management challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, underscored the transformative role of artificial intelligence in higher education and emphasised the importance of equipping educators with future-ready capabilities to foster innovation, critical thinking and responsible technology adoption.
The programme reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s growing focus on executive education and international capacity-building initiatives. By bringing together educators from Bhutan for an immersive learning experience, the Institute reaffirmed its commitment to advancing cross-border academic collaboration and enabling institutions to leverage emerging technologies for excellence in teaching, research and governance.
