In her address, she congratulated the graduating students and said, “What an incredible group of students you are. You took on the challenge of the pandemic, and you succeeded.” She reiterated that a fascinating aspect of India’s growth story is the impetus given to women’s education. “We are firm believers in diversity and realize that we ought to contribute to bringing our women leaders of tomorrow forward, and we are prepared to do so. We have made provisions to include female students in both our MBA and Integrated programmes. We are also attracting prominent women academicians to be a part of our teaching community, ” Dr. Sahay said. She further highlighted that despite the threats posed by the pandemic, the Institute witnessed a resonant placement season, with fifty-six renowned recruiters extending 210 offers across various domains and businesses in AY 2021-22. The Director’s address was followed by a presentation providing glimpses of the Institute’s upcoming campus.

Mr. Sandip Ghose, Member of the BoG, in his welcome address, highlighted and praised the continuous growth of IIM Bodh Gaya. He said “Always remain on the rollercoaster of learning, unlearning, and relearning. If you don’t unlearn, relearning can be difficult especially in today’s time.” He also added “Wherever you work, lead from the right and manage from the left. Good networking is very beneficial. Let your network have: Accelerators, the coach and mentors; facilitators, who help you in day-to-day delivery, friends and family and Supporters, who help you unconditionally and are emotionally attached.” Mr. L Ramkumar, another Member of the BoG, talked about work ethics, “Many of us think we are smart. Nowadays, Google offers every knowledge so, it is the depth of knowledge that creates value for individuals and organizations. So be responsible and accountable and your own brand name will flourish.”

Students were conferred degrees by the dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and Chairman of Steel Authority of India, Smt. Soma Mandal said “As you start your professional journey, remember that there will be failures. We can’t win all the battles but we need to believe in ourselves. Don’t let anything dent your confidence. Your self-belief will make others believe in you. There is no honor in suffering from negativity so move on and life will offer positive gifts.” Appealing to the students to think big, Mandal advised students to get mentors to keep on building their character. Failures are acceptable, but one should not stop trying. Through her speech, she asked the students to keep challenging their limits. She said “Keep challenging your limits. More so if you have reached a comfort zone in whatever you are doing. The moment you have reached a comfort zone it is time for a change.” Mrs. Mandal went on to say “One can be compassionate and strong and strong doesn’t mean aggressive. Know the difference and you will be a leader.”

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
