IIM Bodh Gaya proudly celebrated World Wildlife Day with an enlightening session featuring Mr. Bharat Jyoti, a distinguished expert in environmental conservation, forestry, and biodiversity management. The session, titled “Biodiversity for Management Students,” provided valuable insights into the intersection of ecology and sustainable business practices.
With this year’s theme centered on #WildlifeConservationFinance: Investing in People and Planet, Mr. Jyoti highlighted the impact of population growth in Eastern India, its challenges for ecological sustainability, and the urgent need for biodiversity conservation in the fight against climate change. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), the youngest cohort at IIM Bodh Gaya. Discussions delved into the crucial role of local communities, conservation professionals, and the private sector in biodiversity preservation. The conversation also explored the significance of social entrepreneurship and citizen empowerment in advancing sustainability goals.
As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Bihar State Biodiversity Board, students presented innovative ideas focused on circular economy and carbon offsetting in Bihar. Their proposals emphasized the importance of protecting our forests and fostering a sustainable future.
