Jaya Shukla has a PhD in Psychology, and her research focused on how motivation, metacognitive experiences, and epistemic emotions shape exploratory behaviour among students. Her broader research interests lie at the intersection of cognition, emotion, and learning, and her teaching interests span areas related to Social and Educational Psychology. She has received multiple awards, including the International Collaboration – Assistance to Scholars Award from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and travel awards from the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and the International Convention of Psychological Science (ICPS). Prior to joining IIM Bodh Gaya, she worked as an Academic Officer at NIOS, under Ministry of Education, Government of India, and as a Management Consulting Analyst at Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
