Guest lecture by MD & Operations Head- Analytics Advisory Offshore Center (PricewaterhouseCoopers) - Mr. Sanjeev Shukla

Mr. Sanjeev Shukla Envision, Center for leadership & entrepreneurship development of IIM Bodh Gaya hosted a guest lecture by Mr. Sanjeev Shukla, MD & Operations Head- Analytics Advisory Offshore Center, at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) under its leadership talk series - Netritva. Mr. Shukla started the talk with Data analytics, during the course of which he threw light on the effectiveness of data analytics, Big data, anomaly detection and various other complexities of Data analytics. He also discussed about Risks, both operational and financial. Techniques used by firms to reduce risk and why there needs to be absolute clarity on the front when deciding how to model risk were also discussed. Students of both the batches put forward their queries to which he answered with absolute perspicuity.


Guest lecture by Chief Investment Officer (Debt) & Head Products, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company - Ms. Laxmi Iyer

Ms. Laxmi Iyer Ms. Lakshmi Iyer, Chief Investment Officer (Debt) & Head Products at Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company delivered a guest lecture on “Fund Management & Global Financial Markets”. Personal anecdotes, experiences and mythological references abound her lecture, making it interactive and relatable. She underlined the vital role of social platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter, which aid in forging corporate connections and provide pivotal news related to the market sentiments respectively. Explaining about her job, she underlined the importance of managing risk. Being outspoken, non-hesitant, courageous and faithfully abiding by these principles make the job easier, according to her experience. She encouraged and urged all of us to invest in mutual funds and diversify our portfolios as much as we could, irrespective of the amount, in accordance to our risk appetite and explained how financial planning should start from birth. She also provided valuable life lessons described how having the right content, right confidence, constantly challenging oneself, staying humble and learning to stand out from the crowd always helps.


Guest lecture by Dr. Pawan Agrawal on ‘Mumbai Dabbawala’

Dr Pawan Agrawal from Mumbai Dabbawala delivered an energizing & motivating Leadership talk to the PGP students. He shared insights about Logistics and Supply Chain Management of Mumbai Dabbawala.

He explained how the dabbawalas of Mumbai are pioneers in Time Management, Customer Care and service quality. He underlined the importance of customer satisfaction being the prime motto of every business, which will eventually help the business itself. He enumerated this by explaining how the ‘Dabbawalas’ are a worldwide case study for all. Complete customer satisfaction must be a moral responsibility of every person in the organization.

Another vital he touched upon was of time management. He explained that time, if utilized efficiently, can lead to unmatched accomplishment and increasing customer base. The Mumbai dabbawala are pioneers of time management, being consistently punctual and prioritizing time. This helps them build trust with the customer, forging a long-lasting bond.

Mr. Parikshit Choudhury An expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Parikshit Choudhury, Sr. VP, Goibibo. Envision, the leadership and entrepreneurship development cell of IIM Bodh Gaya organized the event with great vigor and enthusiasm.

This expert lecture providing deep insights of the E-Commerce industry and Marketing tactics to attract more customers. It motivated the students to know more about these sectors, thus engaging in discussions regarding it.

Students of both first year and the second year were present during the event and Mr. Choudhary resolved their queries with absolute perspicuity.

Guest lecture by Sukhendu Patnaik & Neeraj Katare Executive Director & Head of Operations, Otify Logistics

Sukhendu Patnaik & Neeraj KatarePR & Media Cell, IIM Bodh Gaya organised an interactive session on Supply Chain Management & Logistics by Sukhendu Patnaik, Executive Director & Head of Operations and Neeraj Katare, Otify Logistics Pvt. Ltd.

They enumerated the working and motives of their firms, OTIFY and Dr. Store, i.e creating a niche in logistic and supply chain services for healthcare and pharmaceutical industries and striving to become a one-stop supply chain solution partner. They explained how pharmaceutical distribution has been following a legacy and is dominated by the virtue of assumptions, especially when it comes to taking key decisions such as product distribution, the reason for this being lack of real-time data.

They also provided in-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Business Strategies, Resource Planning & Project Management, the vast scope of this industry, online selling explaining the challenges faced by doctors in small and mid-size hospitals where there is a general lack of awareness.


Guest lecture by Arijit Sarkar, Associate VP, Ernst & Young

PR & Media Cell, IIM Bodh Gaya organised an interactive session on ‘Consulting’ by Arijit Sarkar, Associate Vice President (Operational Restructuring), Ernst & Young and alumnus of IIM Calcutta. Through various live cases, insights and personal experiences, he aided in making the session interactive.

He explained about the intricacies of consulting, by initially pointing out the differences between classroom studies and field-work. He also provided insights on the softer aspects of consulting, functioning vehicles, T-based learning, margins and mergers.

The live projects he presented outlined the general work scope of a consultant and explained to us the tools required to study a case based on the specific data of sectors, workforce strength, and demographics etc., aided by personal experiences and the lifestyles of consultants in general.
