Operation Management

Operations Management

Operations Management Area plays an important role in addressing different issues of management. The area offers courses on various quantitative techniques and operations and supply chain management at PGP level. Apart from conventional courses of the area, such as Statistics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Operations Strategy, it also offers newer courses such as Total Quality Management and Revenue Management & Dynamic Pricing. Faculty members regularly publish in journals of international repute. Some of the recent publications are in Journal of the Operational Research Society, Annals of Operations Research and Journal of Cleaner Production.

The Economics area provides courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, India & World Economy, Public Policy and Econometrics. The area engages in teaching and research on the economic issues. The current full-time faculty from this area specialises in Econometrics, Macroeconomics and Public Finance.

IT & Decision Science

The IT & Decision Science Department provides researchers with new technologies and resources for enhancing the management studies through data driven decision making. IIM Bodh Gaya has the vision to become a pioneer management institute by emphasizing on the need to integrate the data analytics in the decision-making process.  Decision Science and IT department is proud to be the foundation of IIM Bodh Gaya’s major and expanded efforts to develop a Data Science ecosystem for management studies. It is an innovative step towards revolutionizing the curriculum of business studies.

The world is being transformed by big data. Be it Internet of Things (IoT), Internet, Marketing or Social Networking sites, data-driven analysis is rapidly becoming an integral part of technology and society. The IIM Bodh Gaya’s IT and Decision Science Initiative is a collaborative effort across all the management departments. We strive to unite existing data science research initiatives and create interdisciplinary collaborations, connecting the data science and related methodologists with disciplines like Finance, Marketing and Operations that are being transformed by data science and computation.

The initiative works to support research in a variety of fields where incredible advances are being made through the facilitation of meaningful collaborations between domain researchers and the Data Science researchers that are developing next generation computational tools and techniques, for Data Science in Education, Data Science for Human Health, Data Science for public policy, ethics, nature and sustainability.

We offer a wide variety of courses in this field (1) Data Mining and Machine Learning for Business (2) Business Data Analytics (3) Marketing Analytics (4) Business Research Methods using SPSS (5) Artificial Intelligence and (6) Block Chains.

The aim of the department is to use the latest advancement in Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Optimization and Statistics for getting deep insights from the data derived from all the various fields of management.

Finance & Accounting

Finance & Accounting

Welcome to Finance & Accounting area of IIM Bodh Gaya. Since the inception of the institute way back in 2015, Finance and Accounting area has been mustered considerable attention and tried to improve the teaching-learning by muddling both the theory and practice. Faculty members of the area offer both core and elective courses – that are relevant to the industry and in-sync with the cutting edge research in management education. Core courses offered in the first year of post graduate program in management include namely basic financial accounting, cost management and policy, corporate finance. Elective courses spanning the second year of the program include namely bank management, financial risk management, investment analysis and portfolio management, derivatives, valuation, and behavioral finance, among others. Faculty members continuously engage in contemporary research like empirical finance, agriculture and rural finance, entrepreneurial finance to name a few. In the future course, Finance & Accounting area is planning to set up an in-house financial research and trading lab for strengthening and enriching pedagogical learning and research.

Human Resource Management & Organizational Behavior

The field of Human Resource Management & Organizational Behavior (HR/OB) deals with the values, attitudes and behavior of individuals and groups within organizations. These are investigated and measured to achieve and enhance organizational goals. Example topics in HR encompass job analysis, recruitment, selection, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, workforce diversity, and strategic human resource management. Example topics of OB study include personality/dispositions, emotion and affect, motivation, social concept and identity, decision making, leadership, groups and teams, and organizational culture and climate.

Marketing

Marketing

Marketing area at IIM Bodh Gaya is a perfect amalgamation of the expertise that comes from experience and exposure at international level and the zeal that accompanies youth. The area members have completed Ph.D./ Fellow Programme in Management from institutions of great repute and carry significant academic and corporate work experience. Primarily entrusted with the tutelage of marketing education at the institution, the area is actively involved in pursuing varied research interests and consultancy projects related to marketing. The area members have undertaken meaningful research on a wide range of marketing topics such as customer value, customer loyalty, consumption emotions, stewardship orientation, network embeddedness and destructive acts in marketing channel relationships, etc. and contributed their findings in the form of books and research papers in prestigious peer reviewed journals. Besides, the area is keen to create and cultivate sustainable solutions for marketing related challenges faced by the corporate and public entities alike. Area faculty accomplished successful consultancy projects for marketing federations and milk cooperatives of state governments. They conducted various international conferences, FDPs and training programs and presented papers at leading international and national conferences.
